Ok kiddos I am slowly building up a few miles in a pair of minimalist shoes and like it. However I love fooling with stuff so I want to start running in a pair of shoes I am told I should be wearing. Stiff, super controlled, ultra padded and at least 80 pounds. What is a good plan to see which work better for me. I have no ideas so give me what you got.

i do all my training in minimal, including 20 mile runs. never been hurt running.
just try both, see if any give you nagging problems
if minimalist doesn’t cause you problems, they are faster, just due to be lighter. a little.
The minimals feel great. I used to wear the super ultra mega shoes because overpronating killed Jesus and 8000 baby seals but now I just want to do some kind of some what not really organized thing to see if my feelings are right.

+1. This is how I did it for several months, and now just running in zoot ultra race 2.0
My legs and knees feel much better in minimalist trainers. Right now, I’m using Nike Luna Racers. Even though they are very light, they have good forefoot cushioning.
NB: I’m old, not a great runner, 5’10" and weigh 175.
