I am looking for sunglasses that don’t have a frame on the upper part of the lens. I like the Scott Sniper (pictured below) but these are not available in the US and I don’t ride a Scott anymore (just kidding about that last part).
Anyone know of anything similar?
I found these but I would prefer something cheaper than $375
and LOVE them, not too expensive and are light. I hardly notice that I have them on. Only down side, is that you cant switch out the lenses…
but going back to the price…just buy two.
I highly recommend the Nashbar $10 no-frame glasses. They’re perfect for time trials. Not only can you see through the top of them, but they block the wind from hitting your eyes very well, even in a steep, low aero position.
i bought 4 pairs of the $10 nashbar. they are definitely cheap, reasonably solid and fit well.
my gripe is that the optics are (understandably) a bit funky. you may or may not be bothered by it. my brother didnt like them, i am OK with it.
i got 2 pairs of clear and 2 pairs of smoke colored. for $10 a pair, its worth getting a few pairs if nothing else than for backup to your $375 oakleys.
What’s the story on the lense colors? I get it that smoke is for sunny days, but what are the orange and yellow for? I assume orange for cloudy days? What about yellow?
Have both the adidas supenova and the Oakley Zero. Both fantasic for riding in the aero position. I find the Zero’s stick out a little wider on the sides and the Nova’s hug the side of your face more, making the Nova’s better for running with a visor or hat. That being said the Zero’s never move or require the minimal of adjustment while riding. Neither have issues with a Giro Advantage II aero helmet. Both great glasses, but genrally race with the nova’s as I love running in them.
I just bought my wife a pair of Rudy Sport Mask glasses from e-rudy, for $90. They had red lenses, which she wanted. The other styles are $150-175 http://www.e-rudy.com/...amp;item_id=SN314308
X2… I just got the Rudy Sportmask a few weeks ago. It is Awesome. Impossibly light and 180 degrees of visibility up/down and left/right.

Hey Jaret,
Those are too good to be true. Under $2 a pair? Is that right? The thing is though, they appear to be safety glasses, so there’s no mention of UV protection. Do they have any or would one expect to have their retinas scorched after a day of riding/running with those on?
I’ve lost my quartz’s but I use the tinted version of the Virtua glasses a lot of the time.
You will find most of the safety glasses filter UV. It’s just finding the comfortable and light ones can be tedious. Also the optical quality has to be there, some are better than others. I don’t wear corrective lenses so if the lense quality isn’t there it will give me a headache, these work well for me.
I also use glasses by tifossi and CAT1 but cannot bring myself to spend more than $40 on a pair of glasses.
There are some glasses by MSA that I really like but could not find them in the quick search that I did. I had to spend almost $6 for those.
