Summer Reading (1)

I just started reading Michael Lewis’ book Moneyball. I am only 1 chapter in but is seems like a good read. It opens up different ways of thinking about money. I am in the Revenue Management profession and this book was given to me by my VP as a thought changing read. What will be interesting is that I grew up in the same community as Billy Beane, the GM of the Oakland A’s and the subject of the book.

Any others have good summer reading suggestions.

Edit. Another good Summer read is this book which I am within 40 pages of finishing.
Everyman by Phillip Roth.

A very really well written, and interesting descriptive narative about 1 mans life.

It’s already been out for a couple of years, but I’m reading Ray Kurzweil’s The Singularity is Near. Some pretty amazing futurist projections, supported by a wealth of information.

The Power Broker: http://www.amazon.com/Power-Broker-Robert-Moses-Fall/dp/0394720245/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-4317722-9696469?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1184864225&sr=8-1

It’s on the Top 3 of my to-read list.

Moneyball is on my list. Right now I’m reading Duel in the Sun: Alberto Salazar, Dick Beardsley, and America’s Greatest Marathon. Quite good so far and more interesting in light of Salazar’s recent heart troubles.
