Sugoi Tri gear

So here’s the deal.

I bought a pair of the RS Tri short while I was visiting Texas. I get back to New York and realize there is a tiny rip in the fabric. The bike shop got in contact with Sugoi and they are going to do a warranty replacement for me.

The problem is they are out of the RS Tri short until mid-September.

They asked if there was any other products I would be interested in. My question is does anyone know how the fabric of these two shorts compares? The RS Tri was more of a mesh?

Any ideas on what I should ask for?

The RS short seems to have the waffle type of material which is the mesh you speak of.

Most of their other shorts (unless I am mistaken) are made up of mostly the spandex type material that the chamois is attached to on the RS. (The RS is a combination of the two)

…i think…

I’ve used the RS tri shorts and the Piston tri shorts.

The Piston is a tighter weave if I recall correctly and a much better pair of shorts in my opinion.

The Piston’s legs were slightly longer too.

Hope this helps.

Hmm. Maybe I will reconsider the Piston short then. I just don’t want to down grade to a lesser pair of shorts as I just bought the shorts that had to be warrantied for 75 bucks.

Maybe the newer RS shorts are different than the ones I used a few years ago. I don’t remember them costing that much.

I think the Piston shorts were like $45

These are the tri shorts.

Does anyone think it would be unreasonable to ask for an upgrade in my replacement because the RS Tri short is out of stock?

I was thinking about the Impact Tri Suit or Velocity Tri short.
