I’m considering changing my mind on the carbon road bike I ordered earlier this year…and am looking at Titanium b/c I’ve not heard of the same availability issues.
Looking for suggestions on titanium road bikes that would come with either full DA10 or carbon chorus/record that would retail between $3,300 - $4,500 at the top end.
Herbert…? What are the options in the litespeed world? I want compact geometry with a top tube no longer than 53cm c-c.
My wife rides a titanium Aquila similiar to the top end model depicted here but without the carbon stays. It’s a very nice road bike from another small Canuk manufacturer. They make nice bikes and have a couple of titanium models. Don’t know what the availability would be where you live.
…I like LeMond bikes…just not sure of availability of those either - but my friends have them and LOVE them as well. I figured if I’m going to go Ti - I might as well go all the way.
I looked at Epic too…though, their new name Everti is kind of lame.
LeMond is a bike that is great for the people it is great for - if they still have the spec’s as when Greg and his fater owned the company they are long bikes. Not sure about them since Trek got ahold of the brand…but anyways.
I have ridden LOTS of bikes…never been on one that feels as nice as my Litespeed Ultiamte. But have them make it all Ti…nix that stupid carbon rear end and integrated headset.
My Father picked up a Lightspeed Solano last year and he loves it. His came decked out with Ultegra, but I’m sure that if you have money to spend any shop would cater to you.
I’d be interested to know if anybody is familiar with Moots road bikes… Their Ti MTB are drool worthy. The YBB is hopefully in my future if I can just get this damn practice off the ground… but that’s another story. I will someday own a Ti bike. It is a big goal. I could care less about nice cars and fancy houses, but I WILL own a ti bike one of these days…

The carbon/ti and carbon/steel frames are actually a compact geometry design. They’re completely different from the classical Lemond design and not as long in the top tube.
Visited the Moots site several years ago in Steamboat when they were a bike store in the front with a really cool looking frame shop in the back. I was impressed with everything that they did back then and I can still dream of having a Moots of my own.
I’m not sure if they are in the same location anymore, but if they are it is worth the visit.
Okay, just checked the website and they have a much nicer looking building now.
I believe Herbert is at Sea Otter so you may not get a reply right now. I ride a Vortex and absolutely love the ride, but Litespeed has a number of bikes in your price range. Also, don’t forget to check out preownedbikes.com. They usually have bikes in smaller sizes. And no, I don’t work for Litespeed.
