Suggestions for Ironman Kansas 70.3

I thought since Ironman Kansas 70.3 is a little over a week away that putting together some suggestions for Tom Ziebart & Ryan Robinson would be a good idea. This way everyone will have a better experience than last year (not that last year was bad, but things can always be better).

I have 2 suggestions

  1. Last year the wait for check-in/packet pick-up on Saturday took to long. I am pretty sure I waited over an hour in line on Saturdayand I am sure others waited longer. I hope this year there will be more people working check-in/packet pick-up to make this process faster. Standing around in the sun a day before the race is not how any athlete wants to spend their time, unless they are at the pool with their family.

  2. You need more bathrooms at T1 & T2. Last year at T1 there were 4-6 restrooms inside T1, I would suggest you move all the restrooms outside of T1 so for those of us that do not start racing until 8:30, but T1 closes at 7:30 when the Pro’s go off there are some restrooms available. The building on site with 2 bathrooms (1 for women & 1 for men) is probably not sufficient for the number of people that will be there. I would say you all could use atleast 12 restrooms down by T1.

For T2 I would say outside you all should add some more restrooms, probably 1.5x more. I would also say more restrooms inside of T2 would be a good idea, i think last year you all had 1 or 2. I noticed people waiting to use the restroom as I ran by.

Overall I thought last year you all put on a great event and look forward to this year being even better!
