It was FREEZIN last year at the start. Mid-30s in running shorts and singlet is NOT pleasant to me…

Definitely not crowded. I wouldn’t call it “hilly” but it’s not the all-downhill course that CIM is. Here’s the course profile. If you’re doing the 1/2 marathon it’s pretty much all uphill (but gradual enough that you don’t really notice it).

Big Sur is very scenic but very hilly and hard to get into. Its also in the Spring.
No way do I remember it being in the mid 30’s. It was overcast, and had rained the night before.
Oh well, I could remember wrong.
Better cold than hot!!

That’s soooooooooooo cool!!!
OH yeah…right at 34F when everyone was getting near nekkid.
Brrrrrrrrr.
Good luck. Looking forward to you RR!!!
It’d be worth doing the full 26.2 just to get to finish on a downhill! Thanks for the visual!!!
Oh, nevermind then.
Spring marathons not an option while living in NE.
Well, you can have Half Big Sur in the fall. The Big Sur Half Marathon was last week-end. Flat and very scenic course. A lot of people run the double Big Sur Half then CIM.
Lake Tahoe marathon. Incredibly beautiful. Small field, old-school feel.
Thanks
