Sub 9 with a P2C

Anyone have any problems with a Sub 9 fitting in a P2C?

Nope. Good to go.

Thanks!

No worries. Here’s a photo of my P3C from last year with a sub 9 on it. I raced this combination at St. Croix and it is one we’ve done quite a number of times (P3C and P2C with Sub 9) here in our store:

Sweet ride!

Gotta say, I was hoping to see a P2C with the wheel set-up (everyone’s seen the P3C with it)!

the photoshopping makes my eyes hurt!

Sorry. There were a lot of cracks in the parking lot behind the bike where we shot the photos. We have a studio now so less photo-shoppy backgrounds.

I have a Sub 9 But I haven’t put a tire on it yet. I am thinking I may sell it if anyone is interested. Its brand new and hasn’t been glued yet.

tom, what are those strange things taped under some of the legs of your bike stand? and why?

It looks like some cardboard is taped to the stand because the pavement wasn’t level.

Hi Tom,

Looking at your bike’s build up and your comments about you personally never needing deeper than 60mm for the front wheel makes me wonder why you chose the 808 for the front and the disc for a hilly course like St. Croix?

Here’s a question I had in another post that didn’t get answered:

"So, 25mph and slower avg. speed = 60mm and less in the front.
What is optimal in the rear at those speeds? Is a disc not optimal vs. 80mm rim? what about H3 in the rear?

When will H3 be a wide rim?

You say more than 60mm in the front and more than 80mm in the rear can be justified by speeds ‘way over 25mph’ - so 26.5mph avg. would not yield much of a change or would deeper and slat spokes be an advantage? "

ha i thought this was going to be “can you go sub 9 hours in IM on a p2C”

but that is interesting, has anyone gone sub 9 on a p2c?

Chrissie Wellington did an 8:51 on a P2C
.

sure, but they looked like dog biscuits, or … maybe fig newtons ?

I love fig newtons.

KILLER BIKE, What a perfect set-up. How do you like the BlackWell Research wrist relief extensions? Standing up in your picture I cant tell how your positioned with them. Also why do you ride compact cranks, seems like Im hearing more and more of that these days on tri bikes.

Fig Newtons are full of wasp heads… One of those urban legends that is actually true not all those crunchy things are seeds!

Tom,

can you explain your choice of rear and front wheel when in another post you advise us to not use a front wheel deeper than 60mm if going 25mph or slower?
