Stupid bike racing question

Can you hold a bike race on a stock-car track?

If so, does anybody know of any?

Sure. I have raced on several over the years. If it is a half or threequarter mile oval it will be a long boring race. Usually they jazz those ones up to a points race, miss and out, or have lots of primes. If you have no idea what those terms are look up Fixedgearfever.com (track site)
i think the biggest problem with some tracks are the tire marks in the corners can be tough to navigate. We had a series on race night that went between the car races, sort of cool, but we looked slow and quiet. I didn’t like the air quality of that event either.
The longer auto tracks sometimes have cool hills and turns but are so easy to corner in because they are designed for fast cars, so not too difficult for all classes. The real plus is there isn’t any traffic to contend with. G

Not exactly a stock car track, but…

Also, the Redlands Classic uses a race track for a couple of stages, I think.

weekly du’s and road races at Seattle International Raceway aka Pacific raceways.

We did Tuesday night Crits at Gateway International Speedway in St.Louis (well Illinois actually) for a couple of years here. Those were fast. Sometimes just doing the oval, sometimes doing the pit road also.

yes, if you get a nice track owner. They have Crits, Circuit Races & TT’s on auto race tracks all the time, esp in the SouthEast (Charlotte, Greenville, etc…).

The Sea Otter road & Mtb races take place at Laguna Seca raceway. how fun would it be to do the famous “corkscrew” there on your tt bike?!!! There is also the Mid Ohio Grand Prix Duatlon on that racetrack in Ohio.

This year the prologue at sea otter did use the corksrew, they started at the top and went down… now laguna seca BACKWARDS would be cool!

In asheville, nc, we have a 500 meter banked race track that is now strictly for bike racing…“the mellowdrome”
