ST's TriYoda to take on best roadies in the North East at Mt. Washington Hillclimb this weekend

…well, I see Triyoda’s name on the start list and this is supposed to be his “A” race for the year. If you are still going Matt, good luck and no dogging it at “dev” pace.

Good luck to’em.

That should be an interesting race report.

Triyoda’s race reports are the best. I can’t wait to hear the blow by blow…especially when the road pitches up to 22% and Triyoda turns sideways, dissappears into aerobic nothingness and dances into the clouds leaving his broken shattered competition 1000 ft below him

did I read somewhere that this race has a 300$ entry fee (for a 7 mile bike climb)?

if so, I don’t want to hear one single yap here regarding overpriced tris! ; )

that sounds about right…but like NAS events, this hillclimb instantly sells out…so there is lots of demand for 7 miles and 6000 ft of punishment!

And I think it’s the only time you can ride a bike up the road.

It is.

i would like to see that

good luck MR Tri_Yoda

We made a special crank for a guy last year to do the climb (Newton’s revenge) on PowerCranks. It was special because I think he wanted a single 25 tooth chain ring up front (or along those lines). Our normal spiders, of course, would not accomodate that. That set is available to loan out to anyone who would like to do this on PC’s in the future. Line will form on the right.

Did he use a front derailleur?

Frank…don’t tempt me…when it comes to hillclimbs, I am sucker :-).

Not to tempt you but here is something to tempt you.

Next year we are hoping to have at least two people do the climb on PC’s. Joaquin (who everyone here I think “knows”) and another fellow out of Italy who can sustain about the same power as Joaquin (we just interviewed him and got some video of him climbing the Marin Headlands, it is all in Italian though but I will forward an early iteration to anyone who wants to see). Have a couple of others in mind also. Would be fun to have a “team”. So, if you did it I suspect you will not be alone. We will make more of these “special cranks” if we need to, if the potential to do well is there.
