Stripped Threads on bike Shoes

I have a pair of SIDI shoes that when I tried to take off the cleat, the threads are stripped. I would love to use the old pair for a back up for spinning while I travel…any suggestions.

Heli coils?

I think they come that small but hit menards and see if they have them. Somewhere in mad town will have them maybe fastenal

If you’re only using them for spinning, and if it’s a one time mount, why not just epoxy the screws into the mount holes? (or use some other similar [permanent solution)

Grab a drill and drill them out. I have done it a number of times. It’s pretty easy.

I stripped one of the nuts on my brand new Ergo shoes a couple years back putting on cleats. I work at a bike shop and I called Sidi (Veltec) and they sent me a new nut insert thing. I’m sure your bike shop can get you one (some?)
You have to cut the inner sole on three sides, peel it back, remove the damaged nut and insert the new one. It’s real easy and you can’t tell you’ve done it w/ the insole in it; no different feeling or anything.
