Stretching to get aero?

So I am thinking of moving from a road bike with clip-ons to either a dedicated tri bike, or perhaps a soloist. One of my limiting factors on my current bike (besides a too-long top tube) is my inability (due to inflexible hips/hamstrings) to get low on the aerobars. I’m running a 100mm stem in riser mode with a lot of spacers under it.

I want to get lower. What sort of stretching do I need to do to get my body in a better position? My shoulders are really flexible, and I tend to compensate for poor lower body flexibility by using them.

broom handle on back Hamstring, calf, ITB, figure-4 stretches to start. A good core strength programme would help, as well.

This was where my original vision of the bunnyman institute was to come in- a goodfitter, a PT, a good mechanic, a massage therapist, and myself would get a good fit programme for a rider. I may still try and institute this.

Pick up the book “Stretching” by Bob Anderson. It’s an old book now in it’s umpteenth edition but still the bible of stretching technique. It also has some cycle specific stretches.
