Stratus Clinchers as an everyday wheelset

Through some luck I was able to pick up a pair of new Stratus DV Clinchers new for half price and am psyched to get riding on these. My LBS has said that they are designed for everyday use and not just racing. I have searched Reynolds site and message boards and have found nothing to either contradict or support this claim. Does anyone know if, in fact, I really can use them daily for training and racing? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

These wheels go for about $2K, I don’t think most people are going to use wheels that cost that much everyday. You did get them for 1/2 price but was that still over $1000?

Andrew

How much value are you assigning to them? If $1000 (1/2 price?) doesn’t mean too much to you. . .hell. . .why not. Most of us have a little tighter budget than that, though. That said, I’d have no problem using them at least once a week in training. I use a set of Alps 100% of the time during my training, and those aren’t exactly cheap. But they aren’t $2k worth of carbon either.
