Stolen Garmin 305!

It was actually more lost than stolen, but anyways…I left it on my clipboard in a city park and forgot it after cross country practice I coach. Yeah, I know! How do you forget a Garmin 305!!! Well, I thought it was in my bag and was in a big hurry to leave.

So anyone have any advice on how to get it back? Would someone know what to do with it if they found it? Would they sell it to a pawn shop? Is it even worth having if you don’t have a charger? Would Garmin support be of help? By the way, I saw the papers from my clipboard in the trash when I went back and so that is why I think it was stolen…(someone looking for the rightful owner would keep the contents of the clipboard with the clipboard which had my phone # all over it.)

Also, any emotional counseling is appreciated along with $162 it’ll take to replace.

Why can a Garmin 305 tell you where you are, but can’t tell you where it is?

exactly! I hit a pothole yesterday going 30+mph on the bike and mine popped off the bike mount, searched for an hour and a half after the race along the road, it’s gone. Anyone want to trade me something for a new 305? I need just the main piece, no straps or HR strap needed. Ahhh…that was one expensive Santa Barbara tri!

My 305 poped off my bike in the spring.I found it in 2 pieces.Called Garmin. They said for $80 I could get a remanufactured 305.They asked me to send in the old unit.Give them a call it can’t hurt.(If you registered it on Garmin.com they will have the serial number).that might be helpful in getting it replaced.Good Luck!
