Does anyone have a special way of getting rid of that wonderful smell that happens in your cycling helmet over many miles of riding?
I try my best to dry the inside of my helmet after each ride to get rid of the sweat but the evil smell keeps coming back.

i suggest rinsing it, drying it, and the putting it in a plastic bag in the freezer to kill bacteria. if the freezer works for shoes, it will work for a helmet!
Dude, that’s nasty! 
You should wash your helmet after every ride. I put in a sink with warm soapy water and scrub away, especially the padding. Then I lay it out to dry.
Run it under the fawcet after each time you ride…

Wear it in the shower after the ride. If you need it again that day or its not very warm you can dry the chin strap and pads with a towel to speed the drying.
The pads are usually held in place by velcro and can be taken out and washed periodically. Leave the salt stains on your chin straps, though–that way people can tell you’re not a poseur.
Yes, freezing works. The odor is caused by bacteria, freezing kills them.
