I dont know about your neck of the woods but here in IN the temps are heating up and the road kills are starting to STANK! Seems like opposums are having alot of trouble making it across the road these days. They lay there a cook for a while then BOOM! You can smell em before you see um!
Funny you should ask…
Doing my long ride last Saturday and the plan was to “attack all climbs”. Well, I’m almost to the top of one long ass hill and really sucking wind when I get a nice mouthful of way over-ripe roadkill elk that was hidden in the weeds all blown up and ready to pop. OMG, took every ounce of intestinal and mental fortitude not to just pull over and hurl…it was THAT bad!
Much worse than the usual skunk.

Skunk wins the award.
Duman,
I am with you on this one. A good racoon or 'possum and you have the makings of a party. I still think the stinkiest so far was a Dead and Bloated Beaver of all things on South Shore!
Also never fails that they are always at the top of some heinous hill!

There is a short railroad viaduct I run through that has about a 5 day old flattened opposum that there is no way to avoid! I cant hold my breath long enough to make it through. And since its in a tunnel the crows wont have thier way with it and hasten its removal.pu!
Hey Corbin, are you training for an IM? Your putting in some big miles.
