Sticker removal

I just bought a used bike that has sponsor stickers all over it. I removed the adhesive on the frame with nail polish remover. I just read something that said that was a bad idea. It seems to have worked, although it wasn’t easy.

Now, there are a couple of stickers on the carbon stays that I’d like to take off. Any suggestions on carbon-safe solvent to get the adhesive off?

Methanol. Regular rubbing alchohol works almost as well, but pure methanol from a paint store is better.

I have not tested this on my frame but, in general, I always use peanut butter. Or just put some peanut oil on a rag or paper towel. I alternate rubbing with the peanut oil and scraping with my finger nail.

It’s not just a breakfast food.
