Is Steelhead a age on race day event or age at the end of year?

Slowbern, are you racing this? I’ll still be 39 on race day if you want a rematch.

Ironman 70.3 rules - age on day of race!

We will send the results to USAT with everyone’s DOB for their ranking, but all awards and Ironman 70.3 slots will be based on race day age.

Thanks for the update on Steelhead Tom. What is the limit for entries this year? I remember the discussion that the limit was up in the air because of negotiations with the park, but I don’t remember what the final word was. Also any comment on the rumor that the swim won’t start on the pier because of liability issues?

Hey Tom! I want a Florida 70.3 swim cap at Steelhead!!! :wink: Somehow I ended up with a white Steelhead swimcap in Florida (which is same as my last Steelhead cap!)

We are at 2,200 particpants and will close the race at 2,500. Swim start will be on the beach this year - there is another thread on ST with information on the swim. See you at the race. Z

Sorry about the Steelhead swim cap at Disney - we race out of Ironman Florida 70.3 caps and I had extra Steelhead caps in that color to replace them! I’ll see if I can find a Disney 70.3 cap for you, but you might have to wait until next year! Z
