Just noticed major run course change from last year. Anyone got elevations or a description of the run?
shady? out in the open? hills/flats? I’m not going to be able to get out there before race day.

One nice hill at mile 2 - flat with some nice shade on the Whirlpool campus! Much better run course than last year! Z
When you say much better, do you mean much faster?(one can hope)
Also, am I looking at the course map correct? It appears there is a little ‘stem’ before the 2 loops, so you won’t actually run near the finish starting your 2nd loop. Is that correct?
I think it will be a faster course, but a lot depends on the weather.
Athletes will not come all the way back to the transition for the second loop - the turn around is about 2 miles out from the transition.
Spectators will be able to drive up to the Whirlpool campus, park and see athletes on the two loops of the course!

Too bad you couldn’t fit in the hills on Rocky Gap Rd. and Golf Ln (the dirt road), and this is coming from a slow runner. For some reason, I like it when courses are harder, and we all know the bike course is not a killer. Looking forward to getting anihilated again.

you and me both, my longest ride all year is 50 miles and I am leaving to go to France for 10 days on Thursday where I am sure to eat a lot of butter.
WTF, ST ate my post. What I original asked was about ICE.
Last year, by the time my fat tushy got to mile 9,10,11? it was all melted. The poor Vols were dying out there, no shade for them. Mile 12 had ice. They had shade. I’m dying and they are doing everything they can to cool me off and I’m wondering - Holy Carp, what about them?
Will the aid stations have more shade (and hence, ice last longer)?
Oh and thanks for the vaseline, miles 8+, never used it before, but it was nectar of the gods. For my feet that is ![]()
