I am looking for Steelhead accommodations.
Everything I have tried is pretty much booked.
Any insight?
Last year I ended up in Paw Paw, it was 30-40 minute drive from the race. Had to wake up a little earlier.
Last year I stayed at the Super 8 right across the highway from the college. I didn’t have reservations, and there were plenty of rooms available. I believe I’m going to just wing it again this year - there’s no way I’m going to pay for 2-3 nights stay, which is what the reservations want…
I think I paid $45 for the room for the night before the race. I checked out in the AM.
I waited way to late to get a room and ended up staying in South Bend, IN. It was about a 40 minute drive but a great place to stay with family. Nice restaurants, shopping, and of course Notre Dame.
Hey All, I live about 10 miles from the race start. Try some of the smaller towns within 20ish of the race. South Haven is really nice. Also try, Coloma, Stevensville area. Or throw up a tent in my yard.
try Safari Joes waterpark and hotel. 129 a night and only about 15 miles away from race start. I booked my room tonight.
Same here, Paw Paw is a close drive (30 min) and is cheap, and takes pets which is a must for my family. Stayed there last year and will be this year

When I did Steelhead, I lived in Valparaiso, IN and drove in the morning of the race. It worked fine, except for the traffic before the race. If you look elsewhere, try Michigan City…
