Starting at TT's

Hello-

I am starting to change my training focus to Time Trials. My equipoment set up is primitive at best, as I tend to be a retro grouch. (being honest here). Aero bars are fine, and I can do sub 5 hour solo centuries.

My question centers on intervals. Transitioning from distance to TT will be easier for me as my body type gains mass very quickly and I am most comfortable when using larger gears. This would not work well for a century, but for a TT, its fine thus far. My initial 3 mile TT fitnmess tests have been good, but I know these are tests and have no reeal indication as to over all performance.

Three mile TT tests so far have been at 5:57, 5:58 and 6:03. These are max efforts and at the end of each test I am basically giving up lunch while resting.

My current training is indoors due to weather and new children. If anyone has a similiar experince or background, I would like very much to hear any training tips you may have.

Two by 10 mile time trials and 5 x 5 minute time trials are pretty popular with the TT set.

Of course, if you are doing intervals at over 30 mph it sounds like whatever you are doing is working pretty well.
