Sphere had to resurrect this thread. I got a batch of Colemine in and mercy is it straight fire. Neil Francis, that volcanos, and sure fire soul ensemble. All gems. There is a new blues album on the way from a group called GA-20. The few songs I heard are so damn good. And thanks for the Marcus king recommendation.

Is that really their album cover? I saw that and thought, who is this band from the 60/70’s that I missed?? And is it really vinyl? I really like their sound, blues/rock goes way back with me, to the late 60’s Zep era…
Finally got around to getting a turntable. Picked up a Technics SL-Q200 from 83/84, a retired guy near me restores vintage turntables and stereos as a hobby. Picked it up last month, finally got around to properly hooking it up this past weekend.
Current collection includes some good stuff I got from Dad like The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Beatles, to stuff I picked up as a teenager starting in the early 90s to now, and hadn’t played much if at all, REM, Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon, Two Gallants, Tool, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Neil Young, and a few others.
I just ordered Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese.
Now I am shopping for speaker and/or receiver upgrade options. Current setup is an Onkyo AVR-887, with primary speakers - Pioneer SP-FS52.
A proper amp will up the ante quite a bit.
with that collection, i’d think you really need some Jason Isbell if you are not familiar with him.
I’m hooked. So far I’m running a mid-quality Sony Bluetooth (yeah, I know…) turntable and Samsung soundbar and sub, so the output leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s a start. My collection so far:

I can think of dozens of other classic artists that I’m dying to hear on vinyl now. James Brown, Elvis, Sinatra, Sam Cooke, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Beach Boys, Zeppelin, Bob Marley and the Wailers, The Black Keys, the list is literally endless. This could get really expensive, really quickly.

He posted a track a day for 1,000 days available for limited download only. Some of the tracks were reissued as result of being on here. They were rare and expensive at the time.

I got a record player for this past Xmas and I already have about 60 records. However, I bought almost all of them for only a dollar each at Stereo Jack’s in Cambridge, MA which some people say has the best jazz dollar bin in the world.
I also have some of my rock favorites such as some Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and similar stuff.
Some records really blow me away and some sound sort of meh. I don’t know if it’s the mix, the mastering, or the vinyl itself, but some records sound very different than my modern versions. I have a few relatives with good music taste that have been getting me some nice records as gifts here and there and I’ve been returning the favor.
