Anyone doing this race on Sunday? 5:50am check-in makes it seem like a real race.
I did it last year. Fun race. Totally dominated in both swim and run by a woman! Very cool.
Water quality wasn’t bad. Just don’t try to stand up on the bottom. (muddy) Current assist, but south wind made waves which slapped one in the face.
I would do it again this year, but I’m heading up to Musselman.

I see that Rondi Davies again won the race overall. And PHD to boot: quite a woman.
Organization and instructions were a bit dicey; it’s never quite clear at the swimNYC events what exactly is going to happen when, or where.
Tore my hand up on a submerged piling (I think, never saw my attacker) - a first for me.
Swam slower than I had before, but ran faster. Beat what looked like a pro woman (name on buttocks of suit) so that made me feel good.
Rondi Davies is fast. I’m curious as to why she doesn’t do more racing. Makes you wonder if Australia is just full of mad swimmers.
