Standing Desks: Uplift or others?

I have an Uplift (I think) at my work office. I have two monitors and they attach via an arm attached to the desk. No issues. Not sure how difficult set up was since the Facilities and IT folks at work did everything.

You don’t think the cross-beam and the thicker leg design leads to better stability overall?

I don’t know for sure, but I did a lot of reading about standing desks before purchasing and came across a couple of reddit threads where people were saying it’s to meet commercial codes and doesn’t really add extra stability. Here’s one I found: https://www.reddit.com/r/StandingDesks/comments/cdo7ms/uplift_v2_commercial_but_without_the_cross_bar/

“Thanks! I ended up going with v2 frame as well. The rep I spoke to indicated that the commercial frame isn’t actually more stable than the v2; but the crossbar is there for regulatory purposes in commercial environments”

I debated buying the frame and buying a top myself and decided not to and was really happy I didn’t. The big advantage to going with the Uplift top is that everything is pre-drilled and there were a few metal inserts for the legs so assembly was pretty easy.

I think someone already mentioned it, but the preset key pad is really nice. I have three settings - one for sitting, one for standing and one that’s a little higher than my sitting height for pushing my chair under my desk when I’m not working. The arms won’t go under the desk at my seated height. I also got the power block with outlets and usb ports that mounts under the desk. I debated on that, and I’m really glad I got it. It’s really convenient for charging things and I think I use it everyday.

I’ve had an autonomous for 3 years because I’m cheap. I bought my wife an UpLift in January because I’m awesome.

I’ll be replacing my autonomous with an UpLift soon. No comparison.
