Well after the first one failed with a faulty strain gauge and was replaced very promptly, within 2 weeks the replacement stopped transmitting the battery was flat, when I went to remove the battery cover I noticed a crack in the meter housing adjacent to the battery cover aperture … I tried replacing the battery which was ok but noticed the battery cover clicked into position with very lite resistance.
The casing was being levered open by the battery cover…
This let in moisture and the second battery died within a day…
So it’s going back again!!!
There is a reason these are cheap re than most it seems… Keep your eyes peeled for this defect…
Lucky 3rd time perhaps???
Glad I went with P2Max.
Buddy of mine has had similar “issues”.
No thanks.
About 1200 indoor miles and 400 outdoors so day and no issues. Guess I’m just lucky.
Same here.
is this a common problem?
At least the customer service seems responsive…
i have been having very short battery life and dropouts. not sure what’s going on
no trouble so far. one dead battery after 6 months. all indoor to this point.
there is no warning that I can see about the battery dying…just quits when dead.
I will make sure to put a fresh one before a race.
Just following up with the outcome.
2nd unti replaced under warranty without question.
They confirmed there has been a batch of cases splitting which was tracked to a change in supplier (apparently).
So fingers crossed… like they say, don’t buy til version 3…
If you have the stages app on your mobile device there is a battery indicator in the bottom right corner.
