I’m curious…have people heard about this story? I understand it’s very, very different from the situation in Ferguson where a cop was involved, but given the proximity to Ferguson–both in time after the GJ ruling and in proximity–and now given this video that suggests an (apparent) eye witness (apparently) heard racial shouts before the beating…why isn’t this a major story?
Regardless, very sad story, the girlfriend and her friend (I think there were three of them in the car) must be a wreck right now.
You know the answer. Hell its hard to find a description of the murderers and almost as hard to find the racial slurs noted. No story here, just an accidental beating to death with a hammer.
Even more disgusting is that while our AG sets out to destroy an innocent police officers life in the name of “civil rights” he will jot even give this case a second look. I wonder if saltman knows why.
For some reason stories of people being best to death with hammers always brings a smile to my face. I don’t know why but how could one not find humor in it. Now if he was beaten to death with a baseball bat, no. But hammers require extra cruelty and depravity to use a hammer. They do quick work of a human head.
It was an accident. Those fine young men were returning home from their construction jobs and their hammers mysteriously killed that guy. Just like guns, they just all the sudden start shooting and killing…Yes, we need to ban hammers, guns and the racist pigs…
The story has been in the Iowa news, since the victim lived in Iowa for a while and will be buried here. But I really haven’t followed it close enough to know many details.
I have always thought it took a special kind of crazy to kill someone with a hammer. Of course you can’t expect much from animals which these murderers obviously are closely related.
Amazing how the Mayor and Police Chief immediately said it was not a hate crime. Even though another Bosnian said he was attacked about an hour prior to this incident.

Yeah, that shocked me too, I stumbled on the video in my OP right after I read about the comments from the Mayor and Police Chief. It seems people are quick to dismiss the hate crime angle when it’s a Muslim or black person but when it’s a white person (or white Hispanic) they almost dig for reasons for it to be a hate crime.
I guess I can’t be too pissed about this, at least I wasn’t the one who was beaten to death by a hammer. That’s a special kind of awful.

The problem–well, one of the problems, at least–is that the race baiters and the media allowed the Ferguson story to spiral out of control and even fueled the fire with unbalanced rhetoric. They pushed a narrative, similar to that in the Martin/Zimmerman case, that wasn’t factual and helped lead people down a path of hatred and divisiveness.
There’s blood on all of their hands right now. The criminals who murdered Begic certainly were almost certainly NOT model citizens before the Ferguson ruling, but given the location and the timing of the murder there’s no doubt in my mind this false narrative of a racist cop murdering an innocent black child with his hands in the air led to this attack. It’s sad and awful, and they should all be ashamed.
