ST keeps locking up my IE7

Okay, anyone else having this issue? As soon as I click on a post, it locks. I see at the bottom it is trying to go to
a banner wetsite. Now, if I use firefox, it does not have issues, and it is telling me it needs add-ons, but I have not loaded.
So, never had this issue before, but I think ST has a lot more ads or stuff that it is linking to now.

Thanks

Dave

My IE6 has been locking up when I have multiple ST windows open over the past few days. Not sure it is ST, but that has been my experience. No problems on other PC using Firefox.

“I think ST has a lot more ads or stuff that it is linking to now.”

it’s no different than it has been for the last few months, except that i have google analytics code on it now. but it’s been on there for a week and a half.

IE7 is crap and locks up all on its own. Firefox is somewhat better but has its own issues. That being said, you might try using Firefox. If you use Microsoft specific sites, you might also install IE tab or something similar to render those specific engines but you won’t need it for ST.

As I good engineer, just trying to get to root cause, since this is nuts.

In IE7, it only is locking up when I try to do ST stuff. Fine it seems with other sites.

Yes, it seems to have started this not very long ago.
I just tried to click on a thread, locks up IE7, and at the bottom, it again is trying to
get to some ad site. So, my first thought is it has something related to the ads you
now link to, and some add in it is trying to use that is messing up with my IE7 and
Vista.

If I use FF for ST, I have yet to have it lock up, but it says a number of add ons are missing
so a number of the ads on the right just say needs a add on to watch.

Again, just trying to find root cause, which I love to do.

Well if this helps, this message was posted with IE7. I’ve browsed a couple of messages and haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary.

So, I am now using FF, since I can not get IE7 to work at all now with ST.

The other issue I have is I am using s/w very few have. Meaning, not that many are using Vista yet.
But, I also am testing the new SP. I know I already found one but in some s/w that the IT
person said no one else had the issue. Well, guess what, when he found I have s/w that I was testing
that he did not, we debugged it on my machine and we found the issue that did not work with the SP.

So, this one will be very very hard to find root cause.
