Anyone have training advice for St. Croix while living in the cold climate?
I was looking to find the St. Croix Real Course Video for the computrainer but it doesnt look like it is for sale anymore. Has anyone used this and was it helpful?
Thanks!

The formula or St. Croix is easy on paper, hard in practice.
Raise watts as much as possibleLose as much body fat as possibleRun lots of steady mileage. Mileage and durability are your friendsRun a lot of hillsLose more body fatMake sure you have good body position or the swim…band pull is great without pull buoy. Two weeks of some heat specific workout are helpful, but if you can’t bring your head around this, just refer to points number 2 and 5. Any extra body fat you have is not just weight you have to carry around the bike and run course, but it is like running around with a layer of wetsuit neoprene in which you’ll cook in the humidityGet on the 14-18 hour per week training plan. St.Croix, although a half IM, can feel like a 3/4 Ironman
Trying to simulate the St. Croix course on a computrainer won’t really buy you much. Just get your FTP up. That bike course is technical enough that when you get there, you’ll want to ride parts of the course. If the pavement does not look black and looks brown or red, it is going to be covered with stones and gravel from mountain run off. Be aware. Show up with a 34x28 on 700 wheels unless you are a 4.2W per kilo athlete.
