I was unable to find any course records listed anywhere. Was wondering how Carfrae’s run (again way faster than anyone else) compared with the course record. Anyone know?
Triathlon = Swim + Bike + Run
:).
Why is it that everytime someone asks a question about the fastest split whether it be swim, bike or run), someone has a snarky comment about how it’s a SBR event. No shit.
I would be curious to know what was the longest field goal in a Super Bowl.
I’d like to know what the fastest serve was in tennis.
I’d like to know who had the highest free throw % in an NBA season.
Obviously in each of these 3 examples there’s a lot more to the respective sports than field goals, serves and free throws…but thank you Capt of the Obvious that triathlon is made up of 3 sports.
It may be hard to tell. For several years in the late 1990s and early 2000s, St. A’s was an ITU draft event for the pros held the day before the age group race. Other years, St. A’s was a non draft event for everybody (pro plus age group) held the same day. So it might to hard to find the prior race results and also to understand whether it was the pro-draft or pro-non-draft version of the race.
The pro-draft version included multi-laps of the bike and the run; whereas the pro-non-draft version was a loop bike and and out and back run. So the run courses would not have been created equal at all.
You’d have to compare the pro-non-draft bike and run splits from this year with prior non-draft results to have a fair comparison. Just not sure where the data is that explains which set of race results is which.

Did Melting Pot just have a meltdown…
You got me bang to rights guvnor…I was taking the piss.
I’m kinda allowed to though since my wife is racing Rinny next week and Frank knows full well I was implying she best sort her swim and bike out for St.Croix (hence the smiley face) Nothing but love here for Frank, and in fact those who have less than amazing swims and runs, but pull out all the stops on the run and take home the bacon.
Just a bit of fun MP, don’t stress.

Just for kicks, I looked this up. Here goes:
- 54 yards by Steve Christie in Super Bowl XXVIII
- 155 mph by Andy Roddick
- Calvin Murphy, Houston 1980-1981 season – 96 percent
Now, as for the St. Anthony’s run split record, I have no idea. Didn’t even attempt to look that one up. I did St. Anthony’s many years ago. I thought it was a mess then. It appears to have gotten worse.

I did not know Sam and Rinny were racing each other next weekend. That should be interesting for the coach, the two of them, and the two of us. I hope for a 1-2 and I will be impartial as to order as compared to you.
Anyhow, I was curious on the run. Rinny seems to break a run split record everytime she steps onto a course now. And, I think it bodes pretty well for her at Kona this year if she can show this kind of speed in an Olympic distance event just a few months after her second place in Kona last year.
Carol Montgomery went in the 33’s there somewhere around 1999-2000 when it was a drafting race.
I personally thought it went pretty well today.
