I’ve done a few searches and while I’ve seen comparisons of PT’s, ergomos, iBikes, etc. I’m wondering if those of you that have SRM’s feel its worth the extra $ over a PT, or ergomo? I know there are a few on here that have multiple units, what are your thoughts?
YES!!!

drop me a PM or an e-mail…and to answer YES!!!
In the last 6 weeks, I have sold 3 units to owners of Ergomos!
The accuracy, the reliability, the ease of use is unparalleled!

yes. i have had all 3. spend the extra $ and learn from the mistakes of others…
To echo the others, it has been one of the best investments that I’ve made. I’ve been using a SRM for the past 6 years and sell all the other power meters on the market.
It depends. They are all different, and have strengths/weaknesses (aside from wheel vs. BB vs. crank). The SRM’s are the hassle factor (zero offset drift, which is substantial as temps change), price, and most importantly, a grossly inferior computer. The PT’s display is smaller, lighter, more intuitive, and runs for a year on one tiny battery. The SRM’s is 5x the price, too big to center on the stem in front of an aero bottle (assuming you care) and needs to be recharged after a few rides or days of sitting. And there is no meter to tell you it’s running out of battery.
After the rides starts and all is well, the SRM is THE meter. All things considered, I think the PT is much more friendly and simple.
I have been using Power Tap for last two years and just switched to SRM. Mainly because of the wheel options, primarily a disc. I like the SRM display better and it’s lighter. The zero offset is a bit of a pain, but not that big a deal. For the money, I think the PT is superb, but if cost is not a big factor, go SRM.
