SRM THAT sensitive...? wtf

Okay well back to my srm problems. I figured out that it was sensor placement that was causing my problems.

Now to the sensor placement holy crap! i moved it less then a mm i mean so little that it shouldn’t make a diffrence. Well it did now i am getting 630-640 through the whole pedal stroke where before i would get it for only maybe 5 degrees. But i’m worried not that if it moves at all tommorow its going to throw off the readings.

Can the sensor wear out to not pick up the reading from the srm. Or is the actual battery in the crank and can that wear out. Any ideas. I’m glad to know nothing is really broken.

I don’t know your history w/ it. How old is it? I think the battery in the crank is good for ~2 years of typical riding?

I have mounted mine on two different bikes, and the sensor location was pretty damn important. A few mm and it would read nil. That’s why I made a very firm mount for it to zip tie and sticky-tape to, and on one bike, I bought that insanely expensive plastic mount from Competitive Cyclist. Worth it for sure. Rock stable mount (now watch me nudge it somehow tomorrow and complain).

YEah… so i built one out of a plastic body filler spreader but yeah it works but its still that whole flipping mm difference thing thats killing me.
