SRM mounting help, please

Hey guys, I’m having a little problem with my SRM at the moment. I think my bottom bracket sensor got knocked and it’s not picking up power/ cadence. It does get speed/distance.

When I zero-offset, It reads a normal #, but then turns to 0 in a few seconds.

I think it may be a matter of moving the sensor, but can anyone offer any advice. A picture of how your’s in mounted would be great!

I have a race tomorrow and would like to figure this out by then. Thanks!

how close is yours? mine is probably only a centimeter away, if no one posts a pic today i can post a pic tonight for you.

Ben

It needs to be close. Really close. Closer than you think. I can basically squeeze a credit card between my sensor and the back plate, that’s it. I have mine superglued on.

mine is pretty close, but mine is mounted on the bottom bracket, not the down tube. When its mounted like that you can sort of move the angle of the sensor to be parralel with the ground, parallel with the down tube, etc. Does the angle of the sensor matter?

I would post a picture, but my bike is packed up in the car- headed to the race about an hour. If I can’t get it worked out when I get there I’ll post a pic- thanks for the advice so far.

In my experience, the angle is important. Basically, it needs to run from the inside to the outside of the white backing. And remember that the wire always need to exit closer to the chainring (out the back if it’s on the chainstay, out the front if it’s on the downtube) to have the cadence pickup and power pickups aligned appropriately. I don’t mount mine centered on the BB for this reason. It needs to be roughly perpendicular to circle.
