SRAM Red Cranks Rusting inside

I have a set of Red cranks that are rusting in the ID of the spindle. I’ve only had the cranks since April. I find this very odd because I have a 2 year old set of SRAM S950 cranks that don’t show anything like this. They get similar upkeep and maintenance.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

are any parts of the crank spindle made of steel? i didn’t think they were, but correct me if i am wrong.

I have the same problem in the exact location with my new top of the line sram red component set. Needless to say, I am very disappointed that the inside ofthe crankset spindal has so easily rusted. I hope someone from Sram responds.

I have an older SRAM Force GXP that has done the same thing.
