Sram GXP Dzero on Cervelo P5 work?

I have a Cervelo P5 and wanting to install a Sram GXP Dzero powermeter using a Wheels Manufacturing BB.

According to the Wheels MFG website and compatibility chart, this will work. (https://wheelsmfg.com/...am-cranks-black.html)

However, according to the Sram website this will not work. I also called Sram and was told my best option would be to order a BB30 crankset and install my Dzero onto it. (https://www.quarq.com/...power-meter-chassis/)

Obviously I would prefer not to order a new crank and use the Wheels Manufacturing BB.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Yes it works. I’m running a Wheels MFG bb on my P5 with the GXP Quarq Dzero.

That being said… I’m probably going to switch to a BBinfinite, because I think their solution is a bit better.

Hmm. That is strange. Most of the past Quarq compatibility issues in the past were due to the spider cutout not having a large enough inner diameter to clear flanges on the larger diameter bottom brackets.

With the DZero series I don’t believe they are using different spiders between GXP and BB30. So why the need for BB30 cranks? So I have two data points that seem to contradict this limitation:
-Quarq Aluminum DZero GXP with 5bolt 110BCD NHB installed on Open U.P. using Torqtite 386EVO to GXP conversion BB works fine;
-Quarq Carbon DZero GXP with 5 bolt 110BCD NHB installed on Open U.P. using Torqtite 386EVO to GXP conversion BB.

So not sure where the limitation for using GXP for 386EVO/BBRight is coming from with Quarq. The BBRight install using the listed Wheels MFR conversion BB shouldn’t be any different than the Torqtite I’ve been using. You’ll actually have more DS clearance with that outboard bearing setup. I have a friend setting up his P2 using new Quarq DFour GXP and Wheels Mfr BBRight to GXP BB so I’ll have another datapoint (one way or the other!) soon.

Did you actually talk to Quarq as opposed to SRAM? I’d recommend checking directly with Quarq to see if they have a specific limitation for your installation. I wouldn’t read anything on the website too literally. Even those in the bike industry get confused on all these BB standards and the SRAM BB30 vs. Quarq BB30 (really BB386EVO) situation gets even more confusing.

It was Quarq I spoke to. I don’t see why it wouldn’t fit and looks like WheelsMFG has done their homework on this. But just concerned given Quarqs take and a review on Amazon saying it did not work.

i ran quarq else on p5 with wheels manuf if it helps
