SRAM Bar End Shifters with Campy Derailleurs

I bought my bike with Campy components. I’m looking into getting bar end shifters for my aero bars, and drum roll the Campy 10 speed bar ends are really pricey, and also very bland. So, I started looking into the possibility of putting Shimano bar end shifters on (won’t work), or SRAM TT shifters. Zinn at VeloNews says the SRAM and Campy shifters pull the same amount of cable, however, in his article he uses Campy Ergo shifters with SRAM derailleurs. I’m trying to do the opposite. (http://www.velonews.com/article/73404/)

Also, this issue has been asked here before, but I didn’t see a difinitive response:

So, my question to all you ST gear heads: Will SRAM TT shifters work ok with my Campy derailleurs? Thanks!

Yeah, they’ll work fine. As long as the cassette matches the deraileur, you’re set. (While the cable pull is the same, the Campy vs. SRAM deraileurs translate that cable pull into different amounts of lateral chain movement. Campy and SRAM cassettes therefore have different spacing.)

The article says that Campy and SRAM do not quite pull the exact amount of cable per click. It cited .9mm difference over 9 gears. 3.0 mm per shift for Campy, 3.1 mm for SRAM. SRAM might work in some cases, but why bother? I like Campy for it’s precise shifting and would not compromize performance for cosmetics.
