Surprising dialogue, especially by Sport Technologist. His feathers have clearly been ruffled. Anyone know the background?

I have no idea.
I know who Simon is, obviously. I hadn’t heard about the other person so I checked out his Twitter. Just a few days ago there were lots of tweets about tech in different sports and it looked interesting. Clearly, he’s having some kind of very public breakdown. I hope he’s ok.
He went on a rant against Coralee Oakes (local politician) as well https://twitter.com/...857154215936/photo/1
He filed a human rights complaint against BC Canoe/Kayak federation (something about mental health and First Nations) and another guy in the photo and is pissed that SQW is in the photo with him.
Wow - that guy has some problems.
Thanks.

From his LinkedIN profile: My name is Jason Anson and I’m a Sport Technologist living with Asperger’s. As a result of my condition, I have an intense focus on topics I am passionate about.
that is a crazy person
.
While that may be the case, it doesn’t change the fact that he is crazy and is likely burning bridges. He seriously needs someone to remove him from the situation.
Only partly joking - I probably think about triathlon 12 to 15 hours per day and am very passionate about it. Do I have aspergers?
My coworker and I consider it to be a plus if candidates for software dev jobs are a little bit spergy.
BUT ONLY A LITTLE!!

We better be careful before someone calls the PC police on us.
I figure it was safe because it is no longer a real medical term and I am spergy myself so I can check my privilege.

I am a father of a son with Aspergers. You have done nothing to warrant the PC police. You are joking around.
As for the dude who is subject of the OP, just because you describe yourself as Aspergian shouldn’t be an excuse for making an ass out of yourself. If anything the fact that he has this awareness (which many his age don’t/ did not) should put him in a position to check himself before he wrecks himself.
You guys are funny for the most part. But the Asperger’s Dad is off on his statements. lol.
It’s not really a breakdown so to speak. Its more of a looping process with my brain. Ie. My brain can loop on the same topic 10 different ways and I cannot stop it. That’s the short of that answer. Mostly I was laughing and found it funny that I could call out all these people with no re-precaution because all my statements are true. No Cease and Decease letters and probably will never be the case. But I do appreciate the comments “I hope hes ok”. That was nice to read.
Ya for sure some problems, lol. High-Functioning Aspergers, PTSD, ADHD, Anxiety and Depression. Shit, what a list. lol.
that is a crazy person
for sure crazy, no doubt. lol.

See Aspeger’s people have a symptom of not “valuing relationships”. So the bridge was never built to burn. so to speak. But you may be right about having me removed from the situation. Especially when I get into those mental loops. It does require someone to break it. Very difficult to do on your own.

No, that’s not quite it. lol. But I can appreciate how someone would obsesses about triathlon. With so much technique and athletism, you could spin the variables all day in that sport.
My coworker and I consider it to be a plus if candidates for software dev jobs are a little bit spergy.

Ya, for sure. Asperger’s people are advanced in software development.

For sure, but the medical community is still using the terms Asperger’s and it certainly is more defined than Austim. But now they prefer to just have it on the Autism spectrum. But for example when I get my medical forms filled out all the Doctor’s still put Asperger’s.

Well I’m sorry you see it as me making an ass of myself. lol. Further, I feel bad for your son if you throw Asperger’s people like me under the bus. I can only hope your son is successful in life for both him and you. But, that doesn’t change the fact that an Asperger’s meltdown is what it is. But to try and discredit me over the acknowledgement of my Asperger’s as some sort of way that I should know better. I hope you feel good that my diagnosis was finalized May 2014. So, a bit hard to get all the social cues and triggers under control with less than a year of awareness. Unlike, say a child who is growing up in today’s society where school has the supports to not only recognize the mental disorder. But to support your son in their teachings. None of this existed when I was a child and as a result, I’ve bumped in the dark most of my life trying to understand the nuances of social situations. Specifically what is acceptable or not. Further, within the Asperger’s or Autism spectrum you have to take into account the socio-economic backgrounds of the person. Ie. the fictional character Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory is a good example of a high functioning asperger’s person who came from a high socio-economic background and more than likely had the support to help him. In theory, since its fictional. Where as on the other spectrum you could use Marshall Mathers aka Eminem who is a High-Functioning Asperger’s Person who comes from a low socio economic background. I grew up in Marshall’s environment. Literally.
So with a low socio-economic background as a youth and a recent diagnosis. That might help you understand the intensity I came at it with.
