Anyone out there have experience with Square Lake race/course.
Mostly looking for insight on the bike and run course (hills, road conditions, etc).
Their website isn’t the greatest and I’m looking for experience from fellow ST’ers.
Thanks in advance

The lake is spectacular, very clear and a favorite scuba spot for MN divers. When I did this race, the swim seemed short. Bike is almost entirely rollers with very few flat spots, and one major climb back to the lake from hwy 95. There is also a long descent to the hwy. Road conditions on 95 are poor and there is usually a stiff headwind here. The rest of the bike course are good roads with generous shoulders. The bike is a double loop with 3 bottle exchanges, one at the park at halfway and one at the middle of the loop. Bottle exchanges seemed a little under manned, so plan on avoiding groups if you want a bottle! I think that the bike is also slightly short at 54 miles. The run is out and back, all up or down without any flats to speak of, and all in the sun! Aid stations on the run were un-manned three years ago, and ameneties (ice, sponges etc.) were few. They do two races in one weekend here, and my impression was that the RD has difficulty recruiting vollys!
I’ve always felt that this is one of the nicest triathlon venues around, a very beautiful part of MN, just be self-contained and don’t expect alot from the organization! Have fun!
