Spring Break Training Destination

My spring break is in mid march and me and some friends are looking for some good weather to get ready for collegiate nationals. What I need:

  1. On the East coast, we’re driving from Jersey, willing to drive 12 hours-ish
  2. Good weather, 60’s, 70’s
  3. Good biking roads in the area
  4. Running trails would be nice
  5. Warm water but hard to get to I think (except in Fl which is far) so maybe an accessible pool
  6. Beaches are good
  7. Some kind of night life (as we are in college)
  8. what ever else you can tell me about the place

So where should we go, my plan is Hilton Head as of right now

Thanks for responses in advance

You might want to look into Myrtle Beach. There is a little bit of a spring break seen going on that time of year.
Don’t know much about the roads and stuff around there. But, I do remember when I was in college the bars were pretty good.

Myrtle Beach is gawdawful…DO NOT GO THERE! It’s all high rise hotels that ruin the beach and a string of all you can eat restaurants featuring crab leg specials. Horrible. It’s also bizarrely popular with elderly people from Ohio.

Charleston is your only real viable destination in the Carolinas. You could consider Hilton Head but it can be boring at night. It might be more fun during Spring Break, though it’s another 1.5 hours past Charleston. Charleston has all types of beaches, from the kind with billions of fake breasted girls to the kind where you are all alone. There are tons of places for riding. I’m not entirely sure where you would want to swim around there (some of the beaches have severe currents) but there is an active tri community in the area. It should be fairly warm by the time you want to go.

If you want a warm weather guarantee you need to go all the way to Ft. Lauderdale. Everything above Ft. Lauderdale can have cold fronts come through.

Charleston could work. Are there any good accessible pools around there so we can jump in at least a couple times in a week?

Any other thoughts out there?
