All Slowtwitch Smackdown participants will be given gold swim caps and gold wrist bands at race check in. All others will get purple - should be pretty easy to spot everyone with the gold - and the fact that they will all be chasing my momma.
Is it too late to be added to the smackdown? I signed up before you had the question on active.com.
Not that I am going to smackdown too many folks, but it should make it a little more interesting.
See you there.
Brian
Is your mom hotter then newbz’s?
I think newbz’s mom must be pretty hot, cuz we all keep talking about her, but if you’s is hotter I’ll gladly chase her.
How gold is the gold? I’m really hoping for a bling-bling Mr T effect in the photos
Should also accessorize well for anyone using powercranks
sweet. I look forward to sporting the gold.
How’s everyone coming along for the race? My left achilles is bothering me a little but I don’t anticipate it being a problem in the race since the bike is flatter.
We need a pic of all the ST’ers in their gold caps before they start the swim!
Chip,
You post a new thread everyday about this race, which is fine, it is a tri-forum.
I just got thinking that what if this race was a giant hoax. Everyone shows up race day and nothing is there. That would be a classic “look at those idiots at waters edge hoax”. You have set everything up so perfectly with all the details and photos, it is going to be classic.
I’m just saying.
am i on the smackdown list somewhere? i looked but didnt see me.
i think the gold caps/wristband is a great idea
Hi Chip,
It’s almost time for the Rockman Half (Adult) and to help you prepare for a great event, USAT would like to remind you of a few very important items.
-
The one-day membership fee for adults (age 18 and over) is $10. Please remember that cash and checks are the only accepted forms of payment if the athlete purchases the one-day at packet pickup.
-
Annual memberships can be purchased at the event if you would like to offer that option. The hard copy waiver used for the one-day membership also has a place to select an annual membership. The bronze membership fee is $39 for adults and can be purchased with cash, check or credit card.
-
Annual members must show their current USAT membership card along with a photo ID at packet pickup. If they cannot provide proof of membership, they will have to purchase a one-day license for $10 or renew their membership if they want to compete.
-
Athletes that signed the USAT waiver during race registration do not need to sign another USAT waiver at packet pickup.
-
Please be sure to pass the 2007 results requirements form (on the CD in the sanction approval box and on the race director dashboard) on to your timers. USAT is creating a comprehensive membership database and we need your help with developing it. Please be sure to include the following new information for each participant in the results file in addition to the required items: address, zip, country and email address.
-
All race materials such as the incident report form and the accounting form can be found on the CD that came with the sanction approval box. They can also be found at http://www.usatriathlon.org/RaceDirectors/RDToolbox.aspx and in the race director dashboard. Please be sure that your medical staff uses the provided USAT incident report as our insurance providers will not accept any other forms. All incident reports must also be signed at the bottom.
-
All athletes age 17 and under are required to be annual members of USAT. They will need to show proof of membership at packet pickup and if they cannot, they will need to purchase a one year extension of their current membership for $5. Please have the parent/legal guardian of the child complete the youth waiver form that arrived in the sanction approval box.
-
Post race materials are due postmarked no later than 15 business days after the event. This includes electronic results (adult events only), collected membership money, hard copy waivers, accounting form and incident reports.
The Event Services Staff travels frequently during the season so if you have any questions, please contact us by Thursday as we might not be available on Friday.
Best of luck with the event!

Gotcha, wink-wink.
I’m just saying.
Hey Chip, howmany ST’ers have you got signed up? Should be awesome, well done fella.
Ditto what newbz said. Am I on the list? I don’t see me on the website. Everybody’s going to need someone to smack down and I’m that person.
Yes I know that this is missing some folks from before Active had the question - we will have enough caps for all.

Wow, that’s a pretty impressive turn out, 40+! I wish I could have been there this year, maybe next. I am sure it will be a success if the amount of effort and research you have put into it is any indication.
Well done.
“Everybody’s going to need someone to smack down and I’m that person.”
I love that. That’s the most democratic statement I’ve heard in a long time.
did u see the confidentiality disclosure?
Good luck with the race! Sorry I cant make it, I have parental obligations.
