Sports Basement rocks!

I hope this is ok. I am not affiliated with sports basement in any way other an as a happy customer.

I was one of the folks who ordered a bunch of Tri gear from them during their sale two weeks ago and then received an email saying everything I ordered was out of stock. This was irritating but Anthony from their customer relations department reached out to me, found new, 2012 versions of what I ordered and sent it out to me for the same sale price. That is customer service. I am certainly a customer for life.

Sorry if this wasn’t appropriate for here but I felt the need to acknowledge this level of customer service.

All I got was a 20% off coupon or the two different orders that got canceled.

Email them. My experience would suggest that they will try to make it right with you.

I’m with you. I had my complete order cancelled (twice) and got the “sorry here’s a 20% off code that you already used and everybody else is already using.” I don’t expect to be compensated at all–these things happen. Just seemed like poor business not to have the appropriate stock listed on the website.

"Just seemed like poor business not to have the appropriate stock listed on the website. "

I think they realized this and are making a legitimate effort to make things right. I am done fawning over them, but again, amazed at how far above and beyond they went.

i’ll see you guys and raise you one. i ordered two pairs of 400 mile shorts during the Black Friday sale. i got the tip from the BF Deals thread in this forum.

anyway, great price, free shipping, etc. within minutes i got a confirmation email. all was well.
the next day i got another confirmation email, telling me that the order was processed.

three days later i got an email that looked just like the other ones. the text said my stuff had been shipped and all was well.
however the body of the email had the regular item and quantity info and all the numbers had been zero’d out.

wth

so i forwarded the email to the Cust Sat, marking the one section green and the other red. i asked what was up and i got the clever response to “ignore the green (the part that told me my stuff was on the way) and stick with the red (the zero’ing out of my order)”.

consider me unimpressed.

i keep a lot of my shopping emails. here’s a copy if you like. i wonder what they meant by “If there are any stock issues you will be notified ASAP”.
i don’t know if i really want a 20% off coupon, but it wasn’t even hinted at.

Dude…I love the Presidio Store… but if the online store can not emulate the brick and mortar store… they are a waste of Slowtwitch users time.

All I got was a 20% off coupon or the two different orders that got canceled.

me too. this despite having my order processed like everyone else.
i not thrilled someone got 2012 goods for the sale price though.

All I got was a 20% off coupon or the two different orders that got canceled.

yeah. all i got was the 20% coupon. and a note that the item i ordered was not in stock anywhere and they were really sorry.

ditto…twice
.

I also received an email with a 20% coupon. I had put in two separate orders so I called them to find out which order had not been shipped. I agree with the OP that I could not have had better customer service. My only goal of the call was to determine what I needed to reorder. Anthony was very helpful and took full responsibility for the mistake. He gave me the 2012 model at the ridiculous sales price on the 2011. I ended up getting a pair of DeSoto tri shorts for my wife for $20 less the 20% discount. I will certainly be going back there to shop.

Im glad you guys were able to get the stuff you were looking for. On a personal (more selfish level), Im a bit annoyed that their customer service wasnt even across the board. I emailed Anthony yesterday (as Im sure most have), and have yet to receive a response…to be continued I guess…

x3 (or 4 or 5). Last I checked their website still reflected the items I ordered (but not in stock) as available. Just poor management to run a sale without first updating what is available. Maybe after they update their website I will try them again but it is a hard to overcome poor customer service once it happens.

They have stores and their website stock is in the stores. As things are sold from store, website doesn’t get updated instantly.

I didn’t order in this recent sale but have in the past and has similar issues with stuff being out of stock, but I called and had a great customer service rep who checked out what they did have and helped me get what I wanted.

It’s a shame that they just stopped selling online. I, for one, wholeheartedly agree with you: they had great products, prices, and customer service.

Did they stop completely? I tried to buy something the other day and it said in store only. Of course there was NO way to sort stuff for what they sell online. It was quite annoying so I gave up and bought it elsewhere.
