Is Voeckler the man or what? Even though Lance was doing some serious ass whoopin today, and we are totally rootin for Lance, my wife and I found ourselves totally hoping this poor guy would keep the yellow jersey. I mean the guy freakin deserves it, he is going nuts out there working his butt off. I mean at the end, I almost wanted them to inteview Voeckler instead of Lance. Oh well, we think he’s been adorable these last few days too.
Yeah he was really gritting his teeth those last few kilometers.
At the end the commentators on Eurosport weren’t sure if he was in the last kilometer or not, with the clock ticking sayin he was 3:30 behind Armstrong.
Then all of the sudden he hits the last 400m and they go wild.
I was cheering for him too.
Yeah he is soooo cute
He deserved it, he was working hard… Good mental and physical strenght
How can you not? I’ve been referring to him as Mighty Mouse because of his feats of stamina and courage. He’s become the story of this Tour, in my opinion.
Count my roommate and I as big Voeckler fans too. He’s such a little cutie and his mom and little brother got air time on French TV and mom is ~so~ thrilled! A very sweet family.
At one point today, he was riding alongside the Russian Karpets, and Voeckler looked like a little kid next to him.
clm
Yeah, it was great to see LA kicking ass and sending all his famous competition home today, but Voekler has stolen our hearts if not the tour. He still might! What is it, nine or ten days in yellow? And he ain't giving up!
Berndog, not too sure I would use the words poor and guy in any discription of the guy. He may have just had the greatest ten days of his life, or maybe he will be the next bright star.
Out of all the guys in the break ten days ago we knew he could climb pretty well, so I was happy but not totally suprised as well as he has done.
I feel sorry for his team with the amount of work they had to do, but for all of them what a jackpot,
Having one of the lowest budget teams in yellow for half of the big one. And a Frenchman too.
This could really be a goldmine in Yellow for him and his career. I am sure he sleeps with a smile every night and in a yellow jersey. Aloha G
He is to this years tour what Tyler was to last year’s. Nothing short of a hero.
I drove the 3hrs down to Auburn last night to watch the stage live (don’t get OLN) and was rooting for him all the way. Can anyone NOT love the way he sprinted back to the mid/front of the pack, over and over again after getting dropped, time and time again?
I like to think that Lance would have congratulated him after the stage on his gutsy ride and a job well done, and agree with others that were waiting/hoping for an interview.
