Spoiler men's world tt result

OK Guys, I got this one right! To make up for his 4th place in the Olympic TT Michael Rogers clinched Gold from Rich and Vinokourov. In an ending remeniscent of the last 4 in the kilo final in Athens the gold position changed 3 times as the last 3 each rode faster than the previous finisher. It’s just that Rogers was fastest by 1:12:43!!!

1st Rogers 57:30:12

2nd Rich +1:12:43

3rd Vinokourov +1:25:04

First American was David Zabriskie in 5th 1:36:86 down

Hey Julian… uh… Michael was the downright favorite  I was just worried about the tight corners in the course, I kept yelling “STOP PEDALLING!” ;-)))

Seriously, amazing performance

& yet he still came second! '-)

Well… I wouldn’t call that TT a world championship… almost none of the big names in world’s TT were there and the only ones that did bother to go there, finished first, second and third.

Good for Rogers but I think he deserved a better win over a better field.

The TdF prologue was more competitive!

I know what you mean, but fortunately for Rogers the UCI call it the world championships, and you can only race those who turn up, even when the best have chosen the Olympics as their A race.

Hey Rogers was a stud at the olympics and WC. Who else do we know that held his form for such a long period. Truly a deserving World Champion and he’s only 24 ?

Rogers was a stud at the olympics

Kelly must have been also, he came forth (not in the biblical sense) as well.

I’m hoping Rogers will get the bronze medal!

Too late!

Oh yeah? The russians appealed… and how’s it going to look when Tyler gets suspended by the UCI, effective before the Olympics?

What’s the basis for the appeal?

I don’t know… David Duffield mentioned that and you know how gaga he is these days

He always has been. He was probably mentionning some Russian cheese was appealing!

I notice that Michael Rich appears to have used a Camelback under his skinsuit…

Surely you are not suggesting it might be for any reason other than hydration???

Not at all. I do find it interesting that he’d choose that method, rather than an on-frame bottle. I note that I’ve never seen a pro cyclist use an aerobar-mounted water bottle in a TT. Guess they don’t listen to John Cobb’s advice?

Most don’t drink on a TT, unless it’s to gain an aero advantage!

What are you smoking? Last years winner, wins again. 2nd place was world champ a couple of years ago. The rest are their nations best TT guys including ours–Zabriske. A TDF prologe of 4 miles is always competitive. The top 10 is missing lance and Jan, and they didn’t do it cause they would have been smoked, if only for form reasons. Give it to these guys as not only did they race a ful year, but they maintained fitness when the rest quit. Look at some of the past TT champs. Botero left the drug infested Kelme team-now he sucks. Millar, well now he sucks. Maybe we can throw a little Hamilton around for his recent TT ability and well, perhaps a little assistance.
