Splitting 12 hours of training time

How would you guys split 12 hours of training time between bike and run, if training for a 1.5/100/10 event (Abu Dhabi tri in March)?

I consider myself a decent cyclist but a beginner runner (just started running consistently this year - reading up on good form running has enabled me to run pain-free on my knees for the first time). I probably have run 200km or so total.

I am a roadie and still do road events, so I’d like to have a minimum of 8 hours on the bike. Right now, I am doing 10/2. But I am thinking of doing 9/3 and even moving up to 8/4, on the basis that as a beginner runner, I will improve more if I focus on the run.

Any tips or thoughts in helping me decide?

(The reason I am not bringing up swimming is b/c I have allocated separate time for it. My job as a dive instructor gives me the luxury of getting some swims in between dives).

Running is such an efficient workout that you can get a lot of bang for the buck. Try 8/4. That would give you 30 mpw at a 8 mph pace.

I am currently doing approx 7/5 and find it very manageable, enjoyable, and enough time for each discipline to accomplish what I am trying to do right now.

I suck at running - try 6.5mph pace. But point taken
