Splits accurate at IMKY?

I was looking up RROOF and it says he ran a 32min half marathon??? Are they keeping up the splits accuratly with that TT start?

I checked a couple of the splits for friends running…they are all around 25-35 min for a 1/2 marathon. They must have the timing mat at the wrong place or have an error in the program.

This what they have for the winner:

TOTAL SWIM 2.4 mi. (51:54) 1:21/100m 15
TOTAL BIKE 112 mi. (4:39:57) 24.00 mph 2
FIRST RUN SEGMENT 13.1 mi. (25:38) 1:57/mile
RUN FINISH 13.1 mi. (2:34:56) 11:49/mile
TOTAL RUN 26.2 mi. (3:00:34) 6:53/mile

yeah ok… but overall, with the swim and bike splits, are those accurate? I mean they take into account when they athlete started?

I’d say the first run segment is closer to 3.5miles
.

the swim and bike seem spot on to me, in considering roof and others that i’m watching. the run seems to be off. 3.5 mile mark for the mat doesn’t seem right either. i might call down there (to spectators i know) to see what’s up.

they stepped on a timing mat before they jumped in the water. You could see it in the streaming video. so they should be accurate.

A lot like when you run a marathon and go over the mat at the start vs the time the gun goes off.

I jsut checked more splits from more people that I know and I agree. probably closer to 4.5 to 5miles I’d say.

I have what is prob. a stupid question. I was just checking in on the Live feed and the Clock was at 16:41:27. I am confused?? Is this supposed to be the actual time they finished in or a count-down or what??? And are the cutoffs the same even with the TT swim start. I have some friends racing and was wondering. Thanks

Chris

I just noticed taht too. I think it’s the time of day (in military time). So pics will show what time of day you finished since the race time wouldn’t be accurate.

Thanks, that makes sense. Just thought I was stupid or something

But then for some people they are flashing back to race times…the guy who just finished it said 10:04 something…guess they won’t be able to keep doing that later when the masses cross the line.

Looks like the splits issue has been corrected. At least for the two people I’m following.
