I DVR’d it over the weekend and watched it last night. I felt bad for Rapstarr, missing the turn and costing him a great race. Watching actually convinced me to make this my end of season HIM…until I found out it was going to be a 101 next year. I guess I will go to Steelhead again.

It’s going to be both. Why would you not go to a great event? 101 or not? Not saying Steelhead isn’t great, but why would you not go to a race that you enjoy?

I believe they will still be having the half in conjunction with the 101. I did the half this year and loved it. After doing Steelhead last year and Racine this year, I liked Racine better. The transition and finish line were much better than Steelhead, much easier for family to watch as we went in and out of transition and crossing the finish line.

Honestly, I have no desire to do a 101. The only reason I am thinking about doing something other then Steelhead is because this year my student-athletes reported to campus on the day after. It is not an ideal schedule.

How hard was it to watch the finish and transition last year at Steelhead when they were next to each other. My wife and her parents staked out a spot and cheered and took pics of me on both transitions and the finish.

At Steelhead last year, the finish line area was real tight and my wife had a hard time pushing my daughter in a stroller. Don’t get me wrong, Steelhead was a nice venue. I just prefer the venue at Racine after comparing them both.
