Spinervals and trainer riser stand question

Mom and wife both bought me Spinerval DVD’s from Spinerval. Unfortunately they bought me the same ones. Fitness 4.0 Lean & mean and Competition 2.0 Time trial Special. Wife also got me 9.0 Have Mercy and 15.0 Have Mercy the sequel. My trainer came with 23.0 Time Saver.

If I return them Spinerval charges $10 per disc restocking fee (plus shipping cost back). They will exchange (I have to ship them) then pay $8 for postage to have the new ones sent out.

Im leaning towards getting 8.0 Recovery and Technique and Competition 25.0 - Aero Base Builder V - The Compilation.

Wondering what the ST collective thought of that choice.

Also need a front wheel stand, should I get the KK riser ring for $18, the CycleOps Climbing Riser Block for $20, or the Blackburn Trakblok ll SR-2 for $15. Leaning toward the KK but again figured the ST collective would have some comments.

Thanks All.

and ya my seats to high, but my front end is to low thats why I need the riser block.

Just sell them on EBAY you won’t lose as much money. Then buy the ones you want. Someone might even just swap them with you.

For your wheels use phone books. they are free.

I have the Recovery and Technique disc, and I don’t love it. If I’m going for a “recovery” ride, I’ll just ride/spin easy. There are some “super spins” and some one-leg stuff. I have a couple of others that I do like, however: I think the time trial specific disc from the first series (is it 10.0?) is good, and also the climbing one. The compilation discs with “best of” clips are super tough.

FWIW.

If you are interested in a longer Spinervals session I suggest you consider Spinervals 13.0 Tough Love. It is a three hour session and is one of my favorites for a longer, weekend trainer ride. I find that it goes fairly quickly and is a solid workout.

I’m not sure about the Spinervals part of your question, but why waste money on buying a riser? The low tech way works fine. I use a couple of old phone books. Then, if you want to simulate the position of a hill, all you have to do is to add one or two.

I’d just go with the cheaper option.

I tried phone books, but slight movements of the front wheel began to tear through the cover after a couple rides
(that and the sweat…)

I’d Ebay those DVDs you don’t want - there’s a good secondary market out there.

Agree on the tough love dvd.

I like …
Mental Toughness
Uphill Grind
Hillacious
Aerobase builders 16, 17 and the compilation.

Buy whatever riser under $20 you LBS has in stock.

Riser…old kickboard - perfect
