Spinergy Rev-X wins Giro TT?

I thought the Rev X was outlawed by the impact tests the UCI conducts. Paul, does Serguei Gontchar get a kick back from you guys? Seems like he’s been riding that wheel for 5 or 6 years!

McGee looks good for track worlds. WOW!

only outlawed for mass start. Anything goes in TT’s. Gontchar loves that wheel. Tonkov too although I think his sponsores have finally stopped him from using it. Luke Bell was in our office the other day and asked if he could buy a set of Rev-X wheels. He claims they are the fastest wheels he has ever ridden. Chris Horner told me the same thing a couple years ago.

now if we could only get the UCI to lift their ban on bikes that aren’t triple triangle for TTs we could see a pro or two riding a Softride into the winners circle

There’s an interesting article in the current iD design mag on monocoque frames and UCI regulations holding back the designs. Interesting read for a non-bike mag. Great pics too. It’s an expensive ($7) import mag. Look for it at the local book shop.

I’ll put on the Rev X super Stiff if there is lots of wind on the track for I.P. or other solo events. The hub has never been solid however. It seems as though there is a small amount of lateral play on the bearings, or the axle caps don’t remove all of the lash.

Do you still service these wheels if I sent it back for a overhaul?

Holy knee/elbow overlap…!

The rider with the wrong wheels, the wrong pedalling style and the wrong position won over the rider with the perfect position, pedalling style and wheels… how strange

I was thinking of this more as a victory for low cadence than for spinergy wheels. Sirhiy (sp?) looked like he was only turning about 50rpm in some parts.

Mashers rule!

don’t forget the non-aero bike…
that must have slowed him down
