Spin tracking?

Has anyone found a way to track distance on a spin bike, i.e. one without a built-in computer? Thanks!

Looks like this worked pretty well.

Track duration and intensity, not distance. Seriously lets all do this because even during the outdoor riding time, distance gets way too much emphasis. When you start to think (and track) in terms of weekly time it is also more useful in terms of planning and comparison. I can rack up very little distance with hill repeats but create a lot of training stress, or I can do a flat ride near the shore and nose-breath the thing at ~30km/h and rack up a lot of distance. The body just knows duration and intensity.

That did look like an interesting option, at least for cadence, but it didn’t seem like it did distance as well. I wonder if the Garmin footpod would work for it? I hear the advice on training by time and intensity, but wonder how it’ll play in with an eventual training plan (assuming I get a stock one).

It looks like that only records cadence…which is much more interesting than distance on a spin bike.
