I’ve used a SPI belt during marathons before and really like it. Has anybody ever used it instead of a bento box (on the bike) during a race? It might be a pain to unzip it and get your nutrition out while on the bike. Just curious if anybody has done it with any success.
Just say “no” to fanny packs!
The most interesting man in the world on… rollarblading…
Love it for marathons tho!

I wouldn’t. It adds weight to your body which increases the pressure\discomfort on your derriere, also increases drag
Wouldn’t say it adds any more drag than the computers or watches people use during races. SPI belt is great to use if you need to hold more stuff. If you don’t want to use the zipper pouch, get those little elastic cords with a push button plastic things that hold your race bibs and use them to tie down extra GU packs. Easy access.
I use one for a race number belt. For my HIM or any race that required me to wear the numbers on the bike I will wear it then, but I’ve never tried to access the pouch on the ride.
I’m sure I could have, but I use 4 pocket shorts from Desoto and some of my jerseys have rear pockets so… why?
I wore one at imfl as a number belt for the whole course. My DeSoto LiftFoil suit didn’t have pockets, so I picked up my gel flask in T2 and stuffed it into the pocket for the run.
