Speedsuit with chamois?

Do they make one? I’m looking for a new race top and shorts anyway. For the same price, I can get into a speed suit. I’m only looking at this for sprints anyway, since I would wear my wetsuit for a longer swim (anything a mile or more). So is there a speedsuit that has at least a bit of chamois for racing? Thanks.

The 2XU Super Elite and the Orca Pro Killa both have a chamois. Couldn’t tell you about the 2XU, but I love the Orca.

Have you worn it for full races? How comfortable is it? Thanks

But you won’t get in to them for the same price as a pair of shorts and top. Expect to pay a little more for the speed suit.

If this only for sprints do you need a chamois? I can through 20 miles without one.

For full races it’s plenty comfortable, but I haven’t worn it yet when the weather is scorchingly hot. The Orca and the 2XU have some wicking capacity, but not as much as their standard lines, so heat could be something of an issue. Or not. Don’t know yet.

If given the choice, I’d prefer it and be willing to pay a little more for it. At least that will help me justify the expense a bit if I know I can wear it for Sprints and ODs.

I just purchased the 2xu Elite: has padding and was $150 (as opposed to $250 for the Super Elite). Great suit.

I saw that. You like it, huh? Is it any hotter on the course than a top/bottom combo. I figure you are near or beyond 100 for a top/bottom, why not spend the extra bit for some floatation in the water on a hot day. Can you feel a difference in bouyancy?

I bought the black one (they also make it in blue) so it is a little hotter. Not enough though to make me reconsider. It also has a front zipper to provide a little extra ventilation. Faster? yes. More bouyant? Not sure–I’ve never really thought about it. I assume the Super Elite would be more bouyant because of the design differences. Other than the bouyancy issue, I found little difference between the Super Elite and Elite. They use the same materials, chamois, etc. Again, overall, I’m very happy with the purchase.

thats weird i have the Orca Killa and it does not have any chamois, great suit though, super fast.

What year model? I’m pretty sure 06’s didn’t have a chamois and 07’s do.

I believe that the chamois was added for the 2007 model year. Prior to that there was no chamois. The rest of the suit is identical, if I’m not mistaken.

well that explains it,i got it from ebay so not sure about the year but its porbably the older model cuz it has no chamois,i dont have a problem with it though cuz im doing only oly’s and sprints.
